Are Smoking Rooms Back On The Agenda For UK Bingo Players?

A  New Year always brings about hope and excitement for many people but it also provides a great opportunity to make a difference to your surroundings and to help others. Could 2012 provide bingo players with a great  bingo bonus? Some people attempt to help others out of the kindness of their own hearts whereas others are happy to help others if they know that they can get some benefit for themselves in the long run. This is just the way of the world these days but it is easy to see that if this gets things done, it can’t be deemed to be too much of a bad thing.

Can bingo win votes?

It seems in Scotland that there has been a bit of debate amongst local MSPs about how to win over the popular vote in their region. People outside of Scotland will make hilariously funny remarks about lowering the VAT on deep fried Mars Bars or dishing out IRN Bru on the NHS but of course, these are bad stereotypes that shouldn’t be given the of day. However, there are definitely steps that MSPs can take to make themselves more popular with the masses and there may be a rather obvious one concerning bingo players.

Smoking ban affected bingo

There is no doubt that the smoking ban has seen a drop in the number of players who play live bingo on a regular basis switching their bingo play to online sites such as Betfred Bingo & Jackpotjoy. There have been a number of reasons why bingo halls are not as frequented to the same extent as they used to be but the banning of smoking indoors has definitely harmed the numbers of regular turnouts. This is why there is some casual lobbying and some serious consideration taking place at the moment to see if some form of compromise over the ban can be reached.

Suggestions at the moment include a separate well ventilated room being provided only for smokers playing bingo. The Mecca bingo hall in Leith have taken the step of issuing smokers with handheld machines so they don’t have to miss a game while they smoke outside but this sort of suggestion could have a massive difference. It remains to be seen whether the MSPs touting this move totally believe in it or whether they just see it as a great publicity stunt for themselves. You can never rule that sort of idea out but perhaps just once MSPs may actually work towards something their voters want as opposed to what they want.
